“Finding Wally, Finding Me” Exhibition and Parent-child Workshop at Harbour City

from July 9 to August 9, 2015

In Where’s Wally?, a series of children’s books created by the English illustrator Martin Handford, the aim is to identify the one and only Wally among a sea of people. We can find him because we know his distinctiveness. We know what we are looking for.

Along the fantastic journey of art development, children learn to find themselves, to know their own uniqueness as autonomous individuals, and to grow up with a healthy identity of a distinctive Me.

In this exhibition, children and teens have re-created and developed Wally into different body proportions and forms. The distinctive red-and-white striped shirt, blue jeans, bobble hat and glasses even turn Wally into animals!

For adults, each beloved child, perhaps our own children or students are our “Wally”. We will never fail to find him/her no matter how big the crowd is.
