Create your own lucky roly‑poly horse that always stands tall! Learn to draw a horse from a side view, decorate with stimulating learning materials, and welcome the Year of the Horse with fun and fortune.

Brush nine galloping horses onto rice paper, weave in landscape scenery, inscribe “Leading the Way,” offer your blessings for a prosperous new year.

A Great Year of the Puzzle Horse

TechART (Digital Painting)

Group C : Age 8 – 12#

Explore Procreate — an easy-to-use digital drawing app for the iPad — and patterned brushes to create horses that reflect the New Year spirit! You can also turn your artwork into a short animation for the Year of the Horse.

(Remarks: Students will create a digital artwork featuring an animation effect.)

#Participants are required to bring their own Apple Pencil and iPad with the latest version of Procreate installed.

Step into Santa’s magical bakery to craft your own Christmas dessert tower while learning to create a 3D structure! Using colours, textures, and imagination to enjoy the sweet festive adventure.

Little Helper’s Christmas Mission

TechART (Digital Painting)

Group C : Age 8 – 12*

The Children are creating the little helpers to plan a Christmas surprise by making a giant fruit cake with oversized fruits while learning to use Procreate. Let’s see if the little helpers can complete this sweet mission and spread joy to everyone!

*Participants are required to bring their own Apple Pencil and iPad with the latest version of Procreate installed.

Puppet Magic: A Reindeer’s Christmas Celebration

(A) Egg-citing Rollers (Age 2.5 – 5.5)

Children will decorate eggs to resemble insects and design a spring flower garden as the background. Small holes allow the eggs to “enter” the garden, symbolizing the vitality and adventure of spring. This activity not only sparks creativity but also cultivates problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination, bringing endless joy to the children.

(B) Dino Egg Discovery (Age 5.5 – 8)

Little explorers will create scenes of a prehistoric wilderness on canvas using fun painting techniques and make a “breakable” dinosaur egg that hides a surprise little dinosaur inside! This creation combines creativity with fun science, allowing children to transform into archaeologists!

Explore the magical charm of light beneath the light box, feeling the interplay of shadows and shapes. Light symbolizes discovery and enlightenment, builds a creative space that inspires imagination, and waits for children to explore. Let’s enjoy the pleasure of using watercolors.

Through the art of photography, we invite you to capture the cherished moments with your child and share the happiness with us.

How to enter:

1. Participate in our Easter workshop and design a festive hat.
2. Photograph your child in their festive hat, interacting with “Art City Party”-themed urban art.
3. Follow our Facebook or IG
4. Post & Share the photo on your social media (FB/IG) in public status, tag @CreativeKids, and use #CreativeKidshk.

The most imaginative and creative THREE photos wins a prize in our summer-specific workshop!

Chosen photos will be displayed.

Don’t let the creativity wait!

Photo Criteria:

Photo Elements: Your child with the Easter festive hat designed during the workshop, the artistic environment or art installation in the city and the interaction of your child’s art with the art installation
Equipment Choice: Participants enjoy unrestricted equipment options, including smartphones, cameras (DSLR, mirrorless, etc.), or any other device.
Color Photo: The entries must be in color. Post-processing adjustments like cropping, brightness, contrast, white balance, and saturation are allowed. However, software-based alterations using tools like Photoshop or Lightroom are prohibited.
Originality: The shared photo must be the original creation of the participant, free from plagiarism. The photo should not have been previously published, used commercially, or infringed upon personal privacy or intellectual property rights.
Content Guidelines: The photo must not contain obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, indecent, insulting, commercial, or political elements. Non-compliance or irrelevant content will result in disqualification. Participants are solely responsible for any illegal activity in their photos.
Inspection: CreativeKids reserves the right to inspect sources to ensure compliance with campaign rules.

Scoring criteria:

Creativity: Originality and innovative expression.
Composition in Photography: Effective arrangement of visual elements.
Photography Techniques: Skillful use of technical aspects.
Relevance to Theme: Alignment with the theme and compelling narrative.

Judging and Result Announcement:

Our esteemed judging panel, led by Dr. Angelina Lo Kwok Yin (Founder of CreativeKids), along with senior mentors from CreativeKids, will meticulously evaluate all submissions.
The selected participants and winners will be publicly announced on CreativeKids’ Facebook, IG, and website.
Winners will also receive direct notifications.
The judging panel’s decisions are final and cannot be contested by participants.

Prizes:

The most imaginative and creative THREE photos will be chosen.
Each winning participant will receive an award of HK$500 Gift Card, which can be used to deduct HK$500 tuition fee during enrolling in our 2024 summer workshop.
Winners will receive direct notifications.
It cannot be exchanged for cash.
The Gift Card cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers and coupons at CreativeKids.
CreativeKids reserves the right to make the final decision in the event of any dispute.

We believe a creative spirit springs from intrinsic motivation, best in an adventurous environment that allows happy mistakes and failures. Competition can be good for children in developing tenacity, self-esteem, and healthy attitudes about participation, winning and losing. Competition can be bad, though, when too much emphasis is on the winning few and
distracting children from their intrinsic creative intention. Yearly we select art competitions that can widen children’s world and appreciation of others.

Our Approach in guiding children in participating in art competitions:

• While there is no guarantee on winning, the emphasis of the art sessions is on helping children to strive toward excellence and build courage to face failure or victory

• Our art instructor/inspirer guides each student to work out a self-chosen interpretation of the competition theme/topic

• With a goal in mind, older student learns to research, and document his/her creative journey as a part of his/her portfolio
