Creative Radar

Every child is born with an inner Creative Radar — an instinct for ideas, beauty, and meaning. But in today’s screen-saturated world, these inner antennas are losing their signal.

Creative Radar, our new 2026–27 curriculum theme, is designed to reactivate them through purpose-built 2D drawing, painting, and 3D mixed media design projects like model-making. Students attune all 7 senses to nature, people, and everyday life — scanning beneath the surface for colours, forms, patterns, and cultural cues that spark inspiration. The result: curious, self-aware young artists and designers who notice the unseen, think beyond the obvious, and create with confidence.

CreativeKids' 2025 - 2026 Curriculum for Ages 1.5 to 18

What does it take for art and design to truly move a child’s heart?

Moving HeARTs is a curriculum designed to unleash children’s creative potential through curiosity and three dynamic approaches:

  • Art that Moves Physically
  • Art that Moves Socially
  • Art that Moves Emotionally

Children engage with a spectrum of traditional, digital, and mixed media ― including drawing, painting, sculpture, and experimental techniques – through hands-on, inspiring projects. Aligned with visual art curricula in school, Moving HeARTs builds artistic skills while nurturing confidence, emotional intelligence, and meaningful community connections.

More than just art ― every child’s heart, mind, and imagination are set in motion.

Design Foundation Regular Program for aged 6.5-18

Learn to be an innovative changemaker with design!

A cross-curricular design program integrating Young Architects Program and Design Basics modules’

Aim to:
• Introduce design thinking, elements, principles and problem-solving to children who are passionate with 3D creation
• Develop technical skills such as idea sketching, visualization, model-making, and presentation
• Lay a solid foundation for future pursuits in design and architecture disciplines

The Design Foundation Program nurtures children and youth to become innovative change-makers through playful and purposeful creativity. Spanning ages 6.5 to 18, it builds on the foundation of our former KiDesign program and integrates the Young Architects program into a cross-curricular design program.

Students learn design thinking, elements, principles, and problem-solving while making connections across design, architecture, science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Project themes, inspired by nature, traditions, and human as well as environmental needs, encourage meaningful responses to real-world challenges.

Through sketching, visualization, simple drafting, model-making, and presentation, students strengthen technical skills and design confidence. They are introduced to the innovative styles of influential designers, learning to balance form, function, aesthetics, and emotion in their creations.

This program lays a strong foundation for future pursuits in design and architecture while cultivating imagination, intention, and the joy of creative exploration.

If you are pondering on what to do with your own or your children’s interest or capabilities in art, this video is for you.

You may be having these questions in mind:

  • What is the prospect of investing in art and design education?
  • What kind of universities and programs are CreativeKids students admitted to?
  • How do parents and students at our studios strategically prepare portfolios that help them achieve educational and career goals, win awards, meet local and international assessment criteria and document creative processes and products?

Since September, we have had the pleasure of cooperating with a team of creative young people. They are final-year students from the HK Polytechnic University School of Design, Digital Media.
The creative outcome of our cooperation is the production of a lively video that shows students and a parent of our Portfolio-building Program sharing how a portfolio reflects creative competence and character.
You may resonate with some of their struggles. We hope you will find your own success along the unique journey in our program.
Our creative mentors are here to guide you to find your visual voice, direction, style, skills, and content that express your potential as an artist, designer, architect, or practitioner in the creative industry.

Portfolio-building

Age 14 and above

In this individualized and tailor-made Portfolio-building Class, students build and present their own body of artworks, idea development and thinking processes in an organized manner for local and overseas interviews, assessments, competitions and university admission. With the flexible content and creative processes, they develop their interpretation of chosen themes and unique personal styles. They are encouraged to draw ideas across fields of knowledge and to address social or global issues beyond personal exploration of art.

Besides Portfolio-building Program (PB), we offer popular and creative programs in art, design and architecture for tweens and teens.

Senior Art Program (Ages: 12-18)

This program offers foundational knowledge in art complemented by intensive hands-on skills training. In our self-directed approach under the close guidance of creative mentors, students choose their areas of passion. In focused studio sessions (ongoing or workshops), students learn visual concepts and principles, generate and develop ideas, build solid art skills in 2D (e.g., drawing, painting, mixed media, collages, photographs, digital painting) and 3D (e.g., model-making, sculpture, assemblage and experimental forms).

Senior KiDesign Program (Ages: 12-18)

Our immersive studio offers a special place to unlock creative youths’ potential in design, developing their interest into educational options and future careers that bring about positive social and environmental changes. Cross-curricular and STEAM in nature, KiDesign programs link together design, architecture, science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Students develop visualizing, model-making, problem-solving and presentation skills. They are introduced to elements, principles and applications of design, design thinking, famous designers and trends.

Senior Young Architects Program (Ages: 12-18)

The light-hearted Young Architects Program inspires budding builders to explore the built environment across cultures and time. Students approach architecture as a discipline that draws upon different skills and fields of knowledge such as engineering, mathematics, science, design, art, social studies, urban and environmental planning. Through weekly practice on model-building skills, they learn to generate ideas using both 3D processes such as rapid concept models, and 2D processes such as design sketching in traditional and digital media.
