We provide a range of programs to toddlers, children and teenagers, from comprehensive art and design programs to “focused workshops” with specific approaches and types of projects.
The weekly art and design classes of our on-going programs balance creative thinking and techniques, process and product, fantasy and real-world topics.
The curriculum design and teaching approach are based on our view that all children have inherent creativity and design ability.
Children can construct their own understanding by connecting new experience with existing knowledge. CreativeKids provides immersive experience and environment to facilitate children’s learning by experimenting, observing, playing and participating with other children and adults.

Regular Programs

Age 1.5 - 2.5

CreativeWawa offers affirmative art experiences for parents and toddlers to bring out creativity and curiosity together. The program provides a stimulating environment and sensory experiences that encourage imagination, hands-on exploration and playful learning.  Adult participation is encouraged as observers and facilitators for building bonding and confidence.

Note: This is an accompanied program. Each student needs to be accompanied by a parent/care taker.

CreativeKiddies

Age 2.5 - 3.5

Toddlers are active learners. They draw and paint in scribbles for the sake of pleasure.

Our confidence-building and sensory-stimulated program emphasizes experimental discovery, experiential learning and individuality in expression. Art experiences as individual and group activities introduce young children to team-work and collaboration.

With art as a tool for exploring the world, young children are introduced to visual elements, concepts and diverse media. To treasure the progress from scribbles to shapes and symbols, a portfolio will be built to document creative and social development during this early entry to the world of art.

Art Program

Age 3.5 - 18

The comprehensive Art Program is made popular by its student-centred, versatile and age-appropriate characteristics. Throughout these formative years of art development, persistent emphasis is made to balance thinking with techniques, creative competence with creative character. The continual new curriculum design motivates children on a high interest level with novel topics, themes and techniques.

Project nature ranges from two- to three-dimensional, traditional to experimental, conceptual to skill-based and historical to cultural, laying a solid foundation in art education. Drawing skills are strengthened on all levels as an essential tool for thinking and idea-communicating.

The Art Program is structured into 4 levels: Preschool, Junior, Intermediate and Senior; and delivered as on-going weekly programs.

Learning environment and experience are designed to promote initiative, independence and self-management. Critiques and art appreciation foster the ability to reflect, present ideas and to accept feedback. This ability will be highly valued in future study and the workplace.

KiDesign

Age 12 - 18

Cross-curricular and STEAM in nature, KiDesign programs link together design, architecture, science, technology, engineering, art and math. Students engage themselves in design thinking, research and problem-solving with project themes inspired by nature, traditions, human and environmental needs.

They acquire technical skills such as simple drafting, model-making and presentation. They are introduced to innovative styles of famous designers, and to address form, function, feelings and aesthetics, laying a foundation for future pursuit in design and architecture disciplines.

Young Architects Program

Age 12 - 18

Children and teenagers can be surprisingly creative designers and budding builders. The light-hearted Young Architects Program inspires children and teenagers to explore the built environment across cultures and time. Students approach architecture as a discipline that draws upon different skills and fields of knowledge such as engineering, mathematics, science, design, art, social studies, urban and environmental planning. They are encouraged to look at nature for amazing clues and design solutions for human habitat.

Students engage in hands-on activities to understand principles of architecture such as design, order, balance, form, function, aesthetics and sustainability. They learn to generate ideas using both three-dimensional processes such as making rapid concept models and two-dimensional processes such as design sketching. Through weekly practice, students gain mastery over making visual mock ups and more elaborate models.

Portfolio-building

Age 14 and above

In this individualized and tailor-made Portfolio-building Class, students build and present their own body of artworks, idea development and thinking processes in an organized manner for local and overseas interviews, assessments, competitions and university admission. With the flexible content and creative processes, they develop their interpretation of chosen themes and unique personal styles. They are encouraged to draw ideas across fields of knowledge and to address social or global issues beyond personal exploration of art.

Workshops

Beyond Winning

We believe a creative spirit springs from intrinsic motivation, best in an adventurous environment that allows happy mistakes and failures. Competition can be good for children in developing tenacity, self-esteem, and healthy attitudes about participation, winning and losing. Competition can be bad, though, when too much emphasis is on the winning few and
distracting children from their intrinsic creative intention. Yearly we select art competitions that can widen children’s world and appreciation of others.

Our Approach in guiding children in participating in art competitions:

• While there is no guarantee on winning, the emphasis of the art sessions is on helping children to strive toward excellence and build courage to face failure or victory

• Our art instructor/inspirer guides each student to work out a self-chosen interpretation of the competition theme/topic

• With a goal in mind, older student learns to research, and document his/her creative journey as a part of his/her portfolio

• To minimize pressure on children’s creative motivation, we strongly encourage both parents and our art instructor/inspirer not to inform children before and during the creative process. Only after the artwork is finished that the children would be invited to enter the competition.

Seasonal Workshop

Our seasonal workshops (Christmas, Chinese New Year, Easter, Summer and Term-breaks) give non-on-going students a taste of our classes. Each workshop covers an art project that captures festive fun and the essence of the CreativeKids spirit. These workshops are a favorite highlight activity for children during school holidays.

TechART - Digital Painting Workshop

Digital painting has never been more accessible and easy for children in the modern age. Learning to use the digital medium as a tool can greatly help the students’ creative process. This program will help the student to learn some of the leading digital painting softwares, e.g. Clip Studio Paint, Procreate, etc. Through learning the concepts and tools of digital painting, the children will also be more prepared to use other similar drawing softwares.

Children will be able to do what they can do with physical mediums and transfer that into the digital space. They can improve their technical drawing skills, both physical and digital, through creating drawings and paintings of different genres and themes.

Parent-child Workshop

Parent-child workshops offer mums and dads the opportunities to experience what their little ones get to do in our studios. More than just art workshops, these special family activities create unique parent-child bonding experiences through art. Through co-creation, parents and children weave precious moments that last a lifetime.

Adult Workshop

Whether you are interested in an inclusive activity, or looking for a hobby, CreativeKids offers a range of adult art workshops. In our adult ARTivities and oil painting classes, we supply endless possibilities for art-based creation, with a belief that a creative mind can help you reflect and unwind. We love watching and supporting people  awakening their dormant creativity and regaining new energy to mundane lives.

Summer Program

The long summer holiday is a golden period for children and teenagers to switch gears into new modes of learning. Each year’s summer theme is designed as adventures in art and design to welcome current and new students from beginner to more advanced levels. Our summer program has been a popular choice among parents and children to expose to new concepts, to explore new topics, to create with new media and to hone new art skills.

This type of training or workshop is also conducted as some of these schools’ professional training day.

We have received very positive and enthusiastic feedbacks on these art experiences.

LiveART

Age 3.5 - 8

Website_Programs_02_texts

A production of CreativeKids, VideoART is a tool that engages children to create artwork anytime, anywhere and with anyone. Each package includes a video (activated by a code) and a set of “thinking tools” materials. Each video, around 10-20 minutes long, explores a specific theme/topic or artistic principle/style, and teaches thinking and making techniques. Children can freely pause or rewind the video. The online learning time can become a creative bonding activity among siblings and even the whole family!
