Ever wonder what your child’s school day is really like? See their world through classmates’ eyes—beyond “Good,” “Fine,” or “Okay”! In our “My Invisible Buddies” project, students create small clay figures, incorporating other materials, to illustrate the invisible elements of school life.
This process helps them explore and express innermost feelings, thoughts, and beliefs, representing abstract concepts imaginatively. Students often personify their creations, unexpectedly naming their invisible companions, fostering originality and transforming abstract ideas into tangible characters.
Project: My Invisible Buddies
Creative Outcomes:
- Innermost Feelings/Emotions/Thoughts: Students explore, express and
understand their innermost emotions and thoughts, reflecting on personal beliefs and values. - Creative and Expression: They learn to represent abstract concepts through imaginative art.
Insights:
- Students use personification in their creations, unexpectedly giving their invisible companions titles like Mr./Ms.
- The artistic creation process fosters originality and creativity, guiding students to transform abstract concepts into characters.
